Shelby French was born in Dallas, Texas, 1962. Shelby graduated in 1986 from North Texas State University, Denton, Texas, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in real estate and finance. He began his professional career as a broker assistant in the Dallas office of Marcus & Millichap. Thereafter, Shelby joined Hunsicker Appraisal Company where he performed appraisal assignments on a wide variety of commercial properties throughout the state of Texas. While employed by Hunsicker, he earned his MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.
Shelby has over 33 years’ experience representing clients in ad valorem property tax matters and related real estate consulting services. Prior to joining Cantrell McCulloch, Inc. in 2009, he was employed for 13 years as a senior consultant with Marvin F. Poer & Company. Since Shelby has been at CMI, he has been top producer for multiple years. He currently represents more than $5 billion in assessments and has saved his clients on average $20 million in tax savings each year.
